We had hoped to begin the upgrade of the playground in the next few months, however for the time being works will not be proceeding while discussions with the Department of Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) are being undertaken regarding the North-South Corridor project. Stage 1, the construction of a wetland and the upgrade to the Torrensville Bowling Club, is complete and for the past few months we've been assessing tenders for the design of a new playground. Implementation of all elements of the plan was expected to take place during the next 10 - 15 years. The document was refined to incorporate the feedback and the master plan was then endorsed by Council to for implementation. Kings Reserve redevelopmentĪ draft master plan was presented to the community and stakeholders for consultation during 2017 and, as a result, more than 150 opinions were received. In order to help meet the growing needs of our community and provide better and more user-friendly spaces, the City of West Torrens is upgrading, and has upgraded, a number of larger recreational spaces in West Torrens, including Camden Park, Mellor Park, Apex Park, Lockleys Oval, Kings Reserve and Weigall Oval.
